Tripe……….NASTY!!!!!!

Doesn’t this look disgusting!!!!!   I was reading about it in school today and my mom did a Google search on it……heres what she got ……………….

Beef tripe is usually made from only the first three chambers of a cow's stomach: the rumen (blanket/flat/smooth tripe), the reticulum (honeycomb and pocket tripe), and the omasum (book/bible/leaf tripe). Abomasum (reed) tripe is seen much less frequently, owing to its glandular tissue content.

Other animals

Tripe may also be produced from any animal with a stomach. In some cases other names have been applied to the 'tripe' of other animals. For example tripe from pigs may be referred to as paunch.

Unwashed tripe

Unwashed (or "green") tripe includes some of the stomach's last contents, giving it an unpleasant odor and causing it to be considered unfit for human consumption. However, this content is desirable to dogs and many other carnivores and is often used in pet food.[4] Though it is called "green" because it has a high chlorophyll content, in reality it is often greyish brown due to other undigested compounds.

Washed tripe

Washed tripe is more typically known as dressed tripe. To dress the tripe the stomachs are cleaned and the fat trimmed off.[5] It is then boiled and bleached giving it the white colour more commonly associated with tripe as seen on market stalls and in butchers shops. The task of dressing the tripe is usually carried out by a professional tripe dresser.

Dressed tripe was a popular nutritious and cheap dish for the working classes from Victorian times up until the latter half of the twentieth century.[6][7] While still popular in many parts of the world today, the number of tripe eaters, and consequently the number of tripe dressers, in the UK has rapidly declined. Tripe has come to be regarded as a mere pet food as the increased affluence of post war Britain has reduced the appeal of this once staple food. In 2012, the UK Tripe Marketing Board began a campaign to persuade people to try tripe, using humour to target the under 85 demographic. This resulted in a reported 300% increase in tripe sales in some areas.

It remains a popular dish in many parts of continental Europe such as France and Italy. In France, a very popular dish, sold in most supermarkets, is 'Tripe a la mode de Caen'.

Happy Birthday To Us!!!

This week on a outing with mom, me and Alyssa bought this maroon and gold volleyball fabric.  Later we made these blankets…..

DSC_0569

We made these blankets in three simple steps…..by the way I titled this post happy birthday to us because in a few weeks its me and lyssas birthday.(mom said these were our birthday presents)

DSC_0573

Our first step is the tiresome job of CUTTING!!  We cut slits on all sides of the fabric 4 inches, just enough to tie the blanket shut, so to speak.

Learning to play Chess

DSC_0515

Lately for school we have been learning how to play chess.  this afternoon Alyssa and mom set the record for the most boring game of chess in history while I put my extravegant journalism skills into action.  Even though that game proved to be really boring, chess later (after playing it myself)  became my all time favorite game. So here it is the worlds most boring game of chess put into words by yours truly…… Lindsey Martinson.    Alyssa and mom were quite clueless on how to play, but mom was stubbornly set on learning how.  Since only two people at a time can play, I decided to watch and observe while I composed these notes. After a half hour of intensly studying the instruction manual, the game began with alyssa capturing moms bishop and pawn.  This game was alittle boring, mom and Alyssa kept arguing…..mom ‘’Were stuck.’’ Alyssa ‘’Were not stuck.’’.  Alyssa seemed to have the upperhand as she proceeded to slyly snatch two more of moms pawns, while mom had her nose buried in the instruction manual. Somehow mom managed to grab one of Alyssas pawns.  As I was exercising my expert journaling skills I picked up a few facts about the game…..num. 1. horses fly….num. 2. my dad is a pro at chess….num. 3. I think chess is boring….num. 4. my dad kills rooks with his ‘horsees’.  Even with all her instruction manual studying mother seemed a bit confused as she stated ‘’ I DON’T LIKE CHESS ANYMORE!!!!’’.  This game was so slow, I had a chance to glance at the tv and watch a man eat fresh venisen sausage off a stick on the hunting channel. When I returned to the game, Alyssa had assasinated moms king…..and you know what that means alyssa won!!!!

I felt like puking after all that walking. then we went to the park and the seagull almost pooped on my head which just toped my day off. for a 1 hour trip it wasn’t worth it!                            OH AND BY THE WAY I DIDN’T WRITE THEESE FOR FUN I WROTE THEM FOR SCHOOL

Weirdest math problem ever

can any of you math geniousses figure out this out????    im stumped ;(     1 and 1 half divided by 3   doesn’t this problem have the same answer?  3 divided by 1 and 1 half    apparently according to my math answer key they do not.  but since you do the problem like this….. change the fraction to a improper fraction put the 3 in fraction form find the reciprical of 3 over 1 and multiply I don’t see why you wouldn’t get the same answer since when you multiply order DOES NOT MATTER????? that might sound confusing and complicated .    let me know if you ever figure it out.   heres another boggling question why don’t they put math cybals on computer keys???????????

LYSSA’S LEARNINGS

“Our youth today love luxury.
They have bad manners, contempt for authority,
disrespect for older people. Children now days are tyrants.
They contradict their parents, gobble there food and
tyrannize there teachers.”

Can you guess who wrote this and when?

CLUE: He was very poor, he carved rocks,  there is no more pictures of him, and he was very ugly.
