Learning to play Chess

DSC_0515

Lately for school we have been learning how to play chess.  this afternoon Alyssa and mom set the record for the most boring game of chess in history while I put my extravegant journalism skills into action.  Even though that game proved to be really boring, chess later (after playing it myself)  became my all time favorite game. So here it is the worlds most boring game of chess put into words by yours truly…… Lindsey Martinson.    Alyssa and mom were quite clueless on how to play, but mom was stubbornly set on learning how.  Since only two people at a time can play, I decided to watch and observe while I composed these notes. After a half hour of intensly studying the instruction manual, the game began with alyssa capturing moms bishop and pawn.  This game was alittle boring, mom and Alyssa kept arguing…..mom ‘’Were stuck.’’ Alyssa ‘’Were not stuck.’’.  Alyssa seemed to have the upperhand as she proceeded to slyly snatch two more of moms pawns, while mom had her nose buried in the instruction manual. Somehow mom managed to grab one of Alyssas pawns.  As I was exercising my expert journaling skills I picked up a few facts about the game…..num. 1. horses fly….num. 2. my dad is a pro at chess….num. 3. I think chess is boring….num. 4. my dad kills rooks with his ‘horsees’.  Even with all her instruction manual studying mother seemed a bit confused as she stated ‘’ I DON’T LIKE CHESS ANYMORE!!!!’’.  This game was so slow, I had a chance to glance at the tv and watch a man eat fresh venisen sausage off a stick on the hunting channel. When I returned to the game, Alyssa had assasinated moms king…..and you know what that means alyssa won!!!!
