Homeschool Assignment

This week our homeschool assignment was to make a list of all the things we get from the Greeks. Alyssa still hasn’t  finished hers but here’s mine.

  THINGS WE GET FROM THE GREEKS:   

the word geometry and many others which I won’t list,
the names of the days of the weeks. For example, the Greeks named Saturday after the planet Saturn.
the design of the White House and many other famous American buildings
Our Calendar
1st 2nd & 3rd class levers and pulleys
the knowledge that the world is round
the first map of the world
the first Olympics
the first marathons
theaters
the first plays
the first democracy government
the knowledge that the earth revolves around the sun
the first history book and the seven wonders of the world.
